65th Independence Anniversary on

My Fellow Sierra Leonean brothers and sisters in the State of Qatar,
As we mark another anniversary of the independence of our beloved Sierra Leone, I write to you not only with pride, but with a deep sense of connection and gratitude.
Independence Day is more than a date on the calendar. It is a moment to reflect on who we are as a people, our strength in adversity, our warmth in community, and our unbreakable spirit. No matter how far we may be from home, Sierra Leone lives within us—in our values, in our resilience, and in the way we carry ourselves every day.
To all Sierra Leoneans residing in Qatar, I commend your contributions to both your host country and your homeland. You serve as important ambassadors of our culture, our work ethic, and our national pride. Your efforts, sacrifices, and achievements continue to strengthen the bond between Sierra Leone and Qatar.
You represent the very best of our nation and through your hard work, your perseverance, and your conduct, you continue to build respect for Sierra Leone and open doors for future generations. Many of you have made sacrifices—leaving behind family, familiarity, and comfort—in pursuit of opportunity. That sacrifice does not go unnoticed. It is part of the quiet strength that defines our people.
Today is also a reminder that our journey as a nation is ongoing. While we celebrate how far we have come, we must also remain committed to where we are going. Each of us, in our own way, has a role to play—whether through supporting one another, investing back home, or simply upholding the dignity and unity that binds us together.
As we celebrate this important milestone, I encourage you to remain united, law-abiding, and forward-looking. Let us continue to support one another, uplift our community, and contribute meaningfully to the development and positive image of Sierra Leone.
This Independence Day, let us renew our collective commitment to peace, progress, and national development. Together, we can play a vital role in shaping a stronger and more prosperous future for our beloved nation.
May we continue to stand together, lift each other up, and carry the spirit of Sierra Leone with pride and honour.
