Doha, Qatar – April 26, 2026
The Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone in the State of Qatar, led by His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Tejan Fadlu-Deen together with Mr. Jonathan Kamara-Bio, Trade Attaché, held a high-level meeting with Dr. Amir Ali Salemi, Chief Executive Officer of JTA Holding, a leading international private equity investment firm with a diversified global portfolio.
The meeting focused on exploring strategic investment opportunities in Sierra Leone, positioning the country as a gateway for JTA Holding’s expansion into West Africa. Discussions highlighted Sierra Leone’s strong potential across key sectors including mining, agriculture and agro-processing, tourism, aviation, energy, and infrastructure.
JTA Holding expressed keen interest in engaging with bankable and near-term projects aligned with its investment framework, which typically ranges from US$10 million to US$500 million, with the capacity to structure larger projects in phases. The company acknowledged Sierra Leone’s growing attractiveness as an investment destination, supported by its natural resource base, strategic location, and government commitment to economic development.
The Embassy emphasized the Government of Sierra Leone’s readiness to facilitate strategic partnerships, including support for public-private partnerships, investment incentives, and streamlined engagement with relevant ministries and agencies. Both parties recognized the importance of adopting a phased investment approach, beginning with medium-scale, high-impact projects and scaling up to larger ventures.
As part of the agreed next steps, the Embassy will provide a curated pipeline of bankable projects and coordinate a government-supported familiarization visit to Sierra Leone for JTA Holding and its partners. This engagement is expected to pave the way for formal Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) in the near term.
The meeting marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral economic cooperation and advancing Sierra Leone’s investment promotion efforts in the Gulf region.
