Sierra Leone has recorded a major milestone in its investment diplomacy following a high-level meeting between Sheikh Mansour bin Jabor bin Jassim Al Thani and H.E. Ambassador Ahmed Tejan Fadlu-Deen, Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the State of Qatar.
During the meeting held in Lusail, Sheikh Mansour and his team expressed strong interest in expanding investments in Sierra Leone, identifying the country as a priority destination in West Africa. Key sectors discussed included agriculture, energy, mining, fisheries, logistics, and hospitality and eco-tourism.
Sheikh Mansour emphasized the importance of timely project execution and efficient investment procedures, while Ambassador Fadlu-Deen reaffirmed Sierra Leoneβs commitment to a fast-tracked, business-friendly investment environment.
A major outcome of the engagement was the formal acceptance of an invitation from H.E. President Julius Maada Bio for Sheikh Mansour to visit Sierra Leone. The visit is planned for November 2025 as part of a broader West Africa tour, with Sierra Leone confirmed as a priority stop.
The Sierra Leone Embassy in Qatar will coordinate investment facilitation and serve as the principal liaison for the proposed engagements.
